The bill (Reg. No.7243) reduces the import duty on milk and cream powder, potato, rye and buckwheat to 0% till 1 June 2011.
The legislative initiative is caused by the reduction of crop acres and considerable decrease in the demand for buckwheat grains in the domestic market.
According to the People´s Deputies, further curtailment in the national resources of grain cultures would result in the deficit for the national consumers.
The suggested decrease in the tariff rate does not contradict the obligations of Ukraine to the WTO, and will attract investments into the domestic market of Ukraine.
